Exotic, powerful, creative.

hehehe. Nice toms at the beginning. I love the jungle sound. :D The beat is kickin'.

ooooh! Crazy lead. I'm digging the stutter. The harmony here is a nice change, I'm guessing this is the 'Anthem' part. Cool. :)

Ahh, creative. Your dropping the toms on the offbeat. Me likes. Excellent use of exotic percussion, man. Reminds me of a Revenge song.

Insane song. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more recognition. :\ This is possible platinum stuff.

And the breakdown-

+ Interesting percussion, along with the familiar trance beat to keep it centered.
+ Nice use of reverb and stereo, the bass more in the middle and everything else spreads out.
+ Creatively done, very professional sound + perfect mastering.

- Possibly too repetitive? Maybe throw in an arp or two. That might take away from the anthem-ness, though.
- Little pitched bass, the bass drum was pretty much the only source. Its minor, but I think it might up the groovyness a bit.

Awesome work man, downloaded & 5'ed. I can see some experimenting on your part, keep it up!

P.S. Do you mind checking out my new song 'Mercury'? I tried using some stuff I learned from your style, along with some orchesteral melodies. :) I think you might like it.

PERVOK responds:

Thanks for the nice comments, but I know this song isn't that good. I'm probably going to take the time to make a V2 or something. Cause this version just isn't satisfying me, you know?

I'll drop you a review, but rememeber, asking a review from me is like asking for punishment from the devil.

neato :P

lolol speech synth :P

I love that thing.

I'll have to make it short, my parents want me off. >_>

+ nice adaption, synths work well with eachother.
+ very pulsing beat, It's your signature. :)

- a bit more environment to the lead, reverb or stereo enhancers should do the trick.
- some build-ups/breakdowns? I felt the song kinda stayed in the same mood the entire time.

hmmmmmmmmmmm nice song.
ok, keep up the great work!

do you mind checking out my new song 'Midnight'? I think you might like it. :)

Anth0n responds:

Thanks for the review, I'll check out your song!

whee, collabs. :)

Nice bass at the beginning. Personally, I don't think that the reverb is that neccessary, but that's just me. Possibly some more mid on the guitar? The bass drum could use a bit more of a drive to it, but that's all I'm gonna gripe about because this song is pretty kick ass if I do say so myself.

Creative workings there with the combination, it's been awhile since I've heard a electronic rock song. It reminds me of the matrix battle theme... :) The drums were pretty intense along with the synths. The clean guitar was pretty cool too, I'm guessing a little multitracking went into this? Pretty fun song.

+ Nice combo with guitar/electronic
+ Great samples for the most part
+ Nice build-ups

- The guitar seems to be out of tune :(
- some equalizing problems, no biggie
- things tend to get blurred together

I would suggest mixing it up a bit, the volumes are sometimes higher than they should be at times. A little automation should do the trick.

Props to you and Speedmetalmessiah, I know how hard it is to pull off a collab. You guys seemed to do an excellent job even so. I look forward to hearing more from you two! Keep up the great work!

btw, do you mind checking out my track 'Midnight'? I think you might like it. ^^

Anima-Theory responds:

The bass cannot be any louder, I tried and all that happens is it clips and distorts...which sounds shitty. The bass is quite loud as it is, you just have to have good speakers which give awesome bass.

The guitar did need more mid range, but it was heavy and the more midrange I put on it meant that it drowned out everything else.

The guitar solo did sorta sound a little out of tune, but then it cuts through teh music more and make it more predominant.

Just syncronizing all of the instruments took me bloody ages, so after I had dont that I became lazy with the equalizing :P

Thanks for the review Comandbeans

Anima

p.s im checking your track right now

Mr. Blacknoise

Interesting intro... I like the variation on the hi-hats. :) and then...

whooooo!

hehehe I always love your breakdowns...

Oh, and I heard a pizzicato thing in there. You might want to throw a tad bit of reverb on it, but that's just me. It seems like you were going for a more artificial tone at the beginning.

Yes yes.. your snazzy leads are hitting up again. Near the end, did you use lfo on that synth? The vibrato effect was crazy. Reminded me of that one Rob Zombie song. :P

So... A few things.

+ Unique from the beginning, kept me hooked.
+ Variation in percussion is present
+ Arps used well, as well as some new sounding synths

- maybe a little too much mid, it could just be my headphones
- seperate the bass and the lead a bit more; it kinda got drowned out.
- the volume pan in/out effect in the beginning kinda took away from the mood a, I might be wrong but were you going for a glitch sound? I have a hard time finding those things.

So, I think that this is something that effort is definitely noticeable on. I don't know if the big name change has anything to do with it, but there's something in here that seperates this track from the rest. Oh well. I liked it. Keep it up, Zenon!!1

MWAHAHAHA you probably find that annoying.

you'll be zenon in my heart forever. <3

lololol

PERVOK responds:

Well, thank you for a really long review, like I used to write back in the day :P I can't be assed to write reviews anymore, I'm too much of a dick now... :(

Anyways.

That synth at the end was the FL Flanger effect slapped on a synth (that I made) in z3ta+.

I dunno, I used a fairly good set of headphones to master this, and I just finished listening to it on speakers, and it sounds kind of fine to e. Nevertheless, I DO love the 'crowded' sound that my songs have, so you can't expect me to change that anytime soon :P Even though I may... lol!

About the bass thing... I just have the bass there so that the lead synths have a deep sound to back up the already 8,000+ frequencies of them. The bass synth provides little to no bass frequencies... thats what the kick is for XD

Sorry about the volume thing. Normally it sounds better in faster paced songs (like, 180+ BPM) and I thought it sounded good enough to be used in a trance song. I made this song in like, 40 minutes so you can't expect everything to flow perfectly... :( Sorry again.

I was in a hurry to make this song before I left for a few hours, so I thought "Hey! I can make this tracks name my NEW name and get away with it!" so thus, I did. LOL!

And trust me, I'll be the name Zenon in my heart. Just with a better name.

:D

Thanks again for a seriously long, thought out review. I'll be sure to think about the negative points you gave me :)

:P yay

nice variation I must say. Relaxed and very funky at times. I like that little clanky stick thing in the background. :P You might want to see that the beats don't overlap each other, that was a bit of a problem in some parts. Overall, you're improving. Keep it up. :)

~cornandbeans

yay :)

oo nice, intro. I like that slide. The symphonic sound is really epic. :) You might want to harmonize some stuff though, it sounds like too many instruments are playing the same thing.

The beat was pretty good, I like I like. :) A bit repetitive, but that's ok... You've got it automated well enough so it adds a lot of variety. You could probably put in maybe a bridge or something to shake it up a little.

Very good, I liked it. Keep it up.

TheComet responds:

thanks for the review, you're stuff's great, surprised I never caught sight of it earlier

nice

I like the sax/trumpet thing at the beginning, but it does get a little repetitive. The beat was good too, you might want to add some bass to compliment the song. It's very loungey.

ah wait... I hear some bass. I have been proven wrong. Just make it come in a bit sooner, get the groove going before people lose interest. You need to work on your arrangement too, maybe don't completely take out the beat... Minor concerns though. Nice job, I hope to hear from you.

Torkey responds:

Thanks for the review and advice! I really appriciate it alot and will be implimenting it in my next songs.

keep it up, buddy!

erm.. this probably doensn't fit quite into ambient, but oh well. I'm gonna try to put a filter + stereo enhancer and see what happens. Good track, all you need is some better recording equiptment. You might want to lose the gain, though.. most ambient music has little drive to it.

I'll see you... tomorrow I guess? :)

peace
~Ian

The-Eastern-Front responds:

mmmmmmmmmmk, thank, i had no clue what genre to put it in, i mean its not metal, not pop, not blues or jazz.
hmms i shall have to try using some effects on it myself, thanks ian, your my buddy :)

dude!!!!

Woa.. man, you've gotten really good. I love that crash cymbal... :D:D:D:D and the wiggly wiggly scratch thing. :D:D:D:D:D the pads were awesome. and that tom thing.... wow. This is crazy professional. Me and you must do a little collabing sometime soon, don't you think? :) Keep up the awesome work.

~cornandbeans

k-m-g responds:

Haha...very flattering. I would really like to do a collab with you man...that would be awesome.

arr

man, please listen to the song next time!! roar.

you got a note wrong in the main melody. roar. I do like the song, it's just if some little thing is off it ruins it for me.

sorry. :(

other than that, the triplet drums and basslines were excellent. Although you might not have known, Moby did a remix of this as well. Of course it wasn't dnb, so I can't really count that against you.

PERVOK responds:

I know I got that note wrong. And its that one note at the end, right?

That was purposful, cause if the note was correct, it was gay. If I changed it to what I had there, it all of a sudden sounds like something you'd hear in a DnB song.
