Actually, ill send you the flp if you want and we can make it into a sofx song.

I MISSED YOU!! :(((((

rargh!

I was so angry when your account got deleted. I was all like, "Hey, I want to listen to undead rave and holy water!"

then I... could find them... :|

This song is really cool. :) Just work on a heavier beat and you'll be set. I really like the fast melodies and your use of ethic instruments. :D You always impress me too on your basslines. Usually it's always on the offbeat, you know? There's nothing wrong with that, but you really get things going with your bass.

Yar. It's good to have you back. :]

m4ster responds:

mmm...

Very ambient and mysterious. Have you ever played Terranigma for the SNES? This sounds a lot like a song from that game... hmm.

The usage of harp here was excellent. The orchestration is simply beautiful. This is probably a n00b question, but I'm having a hard time identifying that chime-like instrument... :\ It sounds great, though.

rrrghh.. how come you're so good?!?

lol nice job, as always.

btw, would you mind checking out my new track, "Rose?" It's the finale to my orchesteral trance series. I'd really love to hear your opinion. :)

MaestroRage responds:

I havn't, but now i'm quite interested...

the chime like instrument is a music box! I try to use as many strange and new instruments in my pieces, for it really does give them a special kick.

Why am I so good? There is far better then I, and I did neglect a LOT of schoolwork for music, so maybe thats why i'm at this level at least.

I'll drop by your page right away ^^. Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked the piece.

first review!! :D

i hope no one takes it while I'm reviewing.... :P

Great toms there at the beginning. You might want to get those bells in tune though... or at least take all that reverb off them. I doesn't seem that much like a dark/gothic song.. Also there was a bit of a problem with the levels maxing out. A compresser/what not could do the trick. :)

The deep brass was a nice touch as well as the background choir. When the strings came in, you built up some complexity to the melody which I found very well done. Near the end, the delay on the toms stood out a bit more... you might want to ajust that a bit.

Overall it was really good, so don't take any of that negatively. Another enjoyable submission that would be great for soundtrack music, you never cease to amaze. ;)

Keep it up!

~cornandbeans

btw, what program do you use?

MaestroRage responds:

Thanks Cornand! You bring up alot of good points, and truth be told this song was hell to equalize, I spent so much time on it, and then I sat up and said "YOU KNOW WHAT!!!?1?!1ONE!" and then just cleaned it up a tad and wrapped that puppy up.

I have... *cough*, three compressors X_x, in this piece. Yes volume levels need adjusting much? It's insane, I turned down the volumes globally, then as stuff was modified they came out of control again, compresser after compresser, filters were thrown on the low end to keep the frequency range stable, some soft clippers applied through SoundForge to try and keep the distortion to the miniumum...

The basic image of this song was that of an army marching slowly, so that you make them out as they walk out from the horizon. They start charging and when the choir booms out, the fight begins!

I realize the toms delay effect was a tad irratating, it was there to emulate the image of the war drums over a large open field, the echo of war and so forth.

I do appreciate a constructive review like this, thanks alot Cornand, i'm glad you liked the piece ^^.

(To answer your question, I use Fruity Studio's with the following VST's (for this piece)

- East West Orhcestra Gold
- EthnoSphere
- East West Orchestra Silver (for the choir)

thats it I think...)

wheeee

lol nice intro

the melody is kinda funny... i like it. Happy. :D

nice use of inferno. :P You might want to compress everything just a bit... try adding some pads and stuff to fill up the empty space.

btw, could you check out my new song, "Rose?" I'd love to hear your opinion. :)

AnSpal1202 responds:

np I'll review anything, especially yours =)

aksjhask :D :D

wewwtt

nice little castlevania-esque riff there. :P

It reminds me of Enya, with the vocals and all. Of course she didn't do trance. It would have been cool if she did. :P Try adding some more reverb of the vox next time. that might get rid of the akward on and off of fuzzyness during the vox.

hmm. actually, I really wouldn't consider this trance... more like ambient. Either way, I liked it a lot. :)

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Thanks very much Cornandbeans, the vocals I used already had some effects on them, such as reverb, and I figured if I added anymore I may get some undesirable effects, they had a little bit of fuzz on them too, if you ever get a chance, go check out NG's heather-ianham her vocals are amazing, we kinda collab'd on this one!

Thanks for your review cornandbeans, appreciated!

Peace Out!

Stealth

whee

:O

Wow... peaceful. Awesome pad there, you kept it ambient without excess reverb. This is really good relaxing/homework music. :P For me, that's good because I can't work without some background.

nice job. :)

MenialConstruct responds:

ah, as well I like to have some ambients while I do my work.

Thanks for the review

fantastic job!

I love that phased pad you've got going. :) I'm digging the bass arps too. You could make the drums less cluttered though.. Perhaps accenting the bass drum to stand out a bit more? Idk. It might fall apart if you take my advice, and I really like that groove you've got going. :) The vox were really cool too, I can see why this is weekly #1. This sounds like something I'd play in DDR, with all those fast paced beats and upbeat melodies. yar. Nice track, mate.

~cornandbeans

btw, would you mind checking out my new track 'Rose?' I'd love to hear your opinion. :)

ZeRo-BaSs responds:

sure

hey dude

You've certainly got a good sound here. I really like the slide synth at the beginning. The drums are really good too, I can hear you used reversed samples, always a plus. ;) Great pads too... This is pretty high-caliber stuff.

you might not like trance all that much, but do you think that you could stop by my page and listen to a few tracks? I'd really appriciate it. I've got a few dnb & hip hop tracks if those sound more interesting. :)

Keep up the great work!
