Reminds me a bit of amon tobin. Although it seems like your intention is to be all over the place, a repetitive backing beat would complement the eccentric noises. It's really cool though, don't get me wrong... probably one of the most interesting things I've heard on ng.

If I had completed the drum work I definitely would've woven both styles together, the first is very sharp and the second has much more depth and manipulative bass.

I like the minimal vibes to this. You might want to trim off a little bit of the tail end on the kick, it sort of bleeds over the beat. It would make it sound punchier, too. That low bass synth has wayyy too much stereo separation; I'd suggest cutting it all the way back to mono, then you'd have a bit more room to hear the lead and the pads. Generally the lower the frequency is, the more centered it should be. That's not always a given, but in this case it would really improve your mix.

This song is a step in the right direction, keep it up and you'll nail it!

Pretty solid melody work. I'd try to keep from compressing the whole entire song, I know it makes it sound heavy in the moment but if you individually work on the density of each track then you'll be surprised with how much more clear your mixdown is.

It's good though, don't get me wrong. ;) I'm pretty impressed.

Jazzy piano. You've got some nice pads in there, but you should widen them up a bit stereo wise. This sounds a bit more like liquid rather than IDM, but it's a good first shot nevertheless.

Track starts off nice, decent sidechaining there. I'd add a little bit of reverb to the clap, the ending is very abrupt and the stereo width it has only accentuates that. The bassline is very smooth.. maybe too smooth? I'd give it a more rhythmic quality perhaps, play around with filters and maybe layer it with a different waveform with more harmonics. The plucky synth is alright, you back it up with some atmospheric pads to bring out the strength of the melody. The first drop is good, if you cleaned it up a bit I could see some deadmau5 vibes going. You probably shouldn't attempt the key change at 3:24, it doesn't transition well. Switching things up is key, but you have to be careful to not destroy the momentum of the song by making things too abrupt.

There are a couple things missing and you could definitely clean it up a bit, but you've got the basic ideas and with no time you'll be a pro at this ;) Keep it up my friend.

good ideas

you need a bit more work filling up the frequency range and keeping the momentum going. Overall you've got some good ideas, but there's too much switching up of the beat to get into the track. Tightening up the break a bit might not hurt, there's a bit of an awkward swing that doesn't go well along with the other instruments.

1:22 was a really cool fill haha i don't know how you made that

good job though, keep working and you'll nail it eventually ;)

pretty slick

I wasn't a huge fan of the really high bell synth, but the pads were very good and I enjoyed the synth line near then end. It had a very video game-like feel.

Everything sounds really smooth and almost hypnotic... Your drums have really good dynamics, but I would suggest linking them to an extra track using a compressor to smush the signal completely and layer it with the original drums with most of the dynamic quality.

I'll show you later in full detail if that was confusing :P

I really like this one though, very moody :D Great job.
